Event

Anti-government activists affiliated with multiple organizations, including the National Roundtable for Freedom (Mesa Nacional por la Libertad), plan to hold various protests in Bogota and other cities of Colombia from Nov. 17-19 to oppose the national government policies.

Demonstrators have called for protests outside the National Registry offices throughout the country between 14:00-16:00 Nov. 17. In Bogota, a rally is scheduled at Avenida Calle 26 in the Teusaquillo area.

On Nov. 18, activists plan to gather outside the National Electoral Council headquarters, also located on Avenida Calle 26 in Bogota, starting at 10:00, and Plaza de Bolivar, in downtown Bogota, starting at 14:00.

On Nov. 19, demonstrators intend to gather in Bogota at Parque Nacional starting at 10:00 and, from there, march to the Health Ministry for a sit-in, then continue marching to the Plaza de Bolivar.

Thousands are likely to participate in some of the protests, especially in Bogota Nov. 19. Heightened security is likely near government offices. Transport and business disruptions are possible if the protests gather large crowds. Counter-protests cannot be ruled out but are unlikely to occur.

Advice
