Uganda removing mandatory COVID-19-related health form for arriving and departing international travelers as of Nov. 21.
Event
As of Nov. 21, Ugandan authorities removed the mandatory COVID-19-related digital health declaration form to complete for incoming and departing travelers. The measure previously applied at all points of entry and exit.
All other COVID-19-related measures remain unchanged.
Domestic Measures
Restaurant and bar patrons require proof of vaccination. Concerts and other social events can occur with no restrictions on capacity. Other businesses have reopened without restrictions on closing hours, though strict health protocols remain in effect. Public transportation is operational at full capacity but is only accessible to vaccinated people. In addition, fully vaccinated persons are no longer required to wear facemasks in uncrowded outdoor areas.
International Travel Restrictions
Fully vaccinated passengers entering Uganda no longer need to provide a negative COVID-19 PCR certificate. All unvaccinated individuals arriving in Uganda must provide a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before travel. All arrivals are subject to temperature screening; authorities may require symptomatic passengers to under COVID-19 testing.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
