Portugal: Unionized TAP Air Portugal cabin crew to strike nationwide Dec. 8-9 to protest working conditions

Unionized TAP Air Portugal (TP) cabin crew will strike Dec. 8-9 after rejecting a labor agreement offer from management. The industrial action comes in response to what workers perceive as difficult working conditions.

Unless averted, the work stoppage will probably force the carrier to cancel about 50 percent of its flights scheduled for Dec. 8-9. Disruptions could extend for several hours after the end of the strike as TP repositions aircraft and works through its passenger backlog.
