Local officials have confirmed widespread power outages are occurring across Moore County, North Carolina, as of Dec. 4. Authorities have determined that the cause of the blackout is vandalism from gunfire targeting multiple power substations on Dec. 3. Utility provider Duke Energy has reported over 38,000 customers are impacted. Company officials have provided no estimate as to when power may be fully restored.
