The Bogazici Electricity Company (BEDAS) and the Istanbul Anadolu Yakasi Electric company (Ayedas) are implementing power outages in districts throughout Istanbul on Dec. 7. The utility companies are conducting extensive preventative maintenance work, including maintenance of overhead lines. Power outages will take place until 18:00 and may last from 90 minutes to eight hours. Both central and outlying districts will be impacted, including Bagcilar, Bahcelievler, Beyoglu, Besiktas, Eyupsultan, Kadikoy, Maltepe, Silivri, Sisli, Sultanbeyli, and several others.
Temporary commercial and communications disruptions are possible while power outages are taking place. Cellular and mobile services could be affected. Trains may also experience delays if outages impact signaling devices or overhead wires.
