Activists plan to protest outside the Embassy of Sweden in Tehran from 15:00 Dec. 12 to demand the release of former Iranian official Hamid Nouri. The Swedish court in July sentenced Nouri to life imprisonment for his reported involvement in the executions of thousands of Iranian political prisoners in 1988. Dozens to a hundred individuals could attend the demonstration.
Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the Embassy of Sweden the afternoon of Dec. 12. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
