Belgium: Police unions protesting in Brussels, Dec. 20

Unionized police are marching through Brussels Dec. 20 over salary and retirement grievances. Participants gathered at Brussels Central Station before marching towards Wetstraat (Rue de la Loi). Authorities have closed Westraat between Kunst-Wei intersection and Hertogstraat, as well as several tunnels.

Authorities have almost certainly deployed additional personnel to monitor and facilitate the event. Large crowds and related security measures will almost certainly prompt localized traffic disruptions. Some public transport services, including trams and buses, might be delayed, diverted, or canceled. Violence is not anticipated.
