Emergency services are responding to a tram derailment in the Kabatas area of Istanbul Dec. 20. The tram reportedly struck an electricity pole at Kabatas Station before derailing. At least four injuries have been reported.

Authorities have implemented additional security measures in the area to facilitate the emergency response. Tram services are suspended at Kabatas Station. Roads in the immediate vicinity are likely have traffic restrictions in place prompting increased traffic congestion in surrounding areas. Disruptions will likely persist through the afternoon of Dec. 20.
