Activists of the La Mojana community are maintaining a roadblock on the Del Rio San Jorge bridge section of the Monteria-Caucasia highway near La Apartada, which connects the departments of Cordoba and Antioquia as of Jan. 26. Demonstrators have been blocking all lanes in both directions since at least Jan. 25. They are likely to maintain the protest through at least late Jan. 26. The purpose of the action is to demand national authorities fulfill several promises to the community, including construction work to mitigate floods that have affected agricultural activities in the region.

Significant transport and business disruptions are almost certain to continue for the coming hours or days if demonstrators maintain the roadblock. Heightened security presence is possible near the affected area.
