Unions representing workers in the non-profit sector are leading a demonstration in downtown Brussels Jan. 31 to demand the government invest more in their sector. Participants are marching from Brussels North Station to the Brussels Midi Station; they are scheduled to arrive at Gare du Midi around 12:30. Police state transport disruptions are highly likely in areas surrounding Boulevard Albert II, Place Charles Rogier, Boulevard Pacheco, Brussels Central Station, Boulevard Lemonnier, and Esplanade de l'Europe.
Authorities have deployed additional police to monitor and facilitate the demonstration. Residual disruptions are likely after the gathering concludes. Violence is not anticipated.
