Armed clashes broke out between two rival militias in Al-Zawiyah's Al-Shurafa area, located about 45 km (28 miles) west of Tripoli, early Feb. 6. Unconfirmed reports suggest clashes may be ongoing in the area. At least two people have been killed in the clashes. Local emergency personnel have instructed residents to avoid areas of the city impacted by the fighting and refrain from using major thoroughfares until the clashes abate.
