Colombia: Indigenous groups protesting outside Congress in Bogota Feb. 7

Indigenous educators from the Cauca department are demonstrating outside the Congress building in Bogota during the afternoon of Feb. 7. The action reportedly began at about 15:30; protesters are blocking anyone from entering the building. Police are responding and attempting to disperse the participants.

Heightened security and transport and business disruptions are likely in the area for the duration of the gathering. Clashes between protesters and police cannot be ruled out.
