Authorities are currently establishing a 300-meter (984-foot) evacuation security cordon around the device to facilitate the disposal operation.

No individuals or traffic will be permitted within the security cordon for the duration of the disposal operation; traffic will be suspended on the nearby section of Mindener Strasse. Public transport normally routed through the area will be canceled or diverted. Increased traffic congestion is likely in the surrounding area as drivers seek alternative routes. Officials intend to dispose of the device at around 20:00.
