Activists opposing President Gustavo Petro's administration, including some elected officials, plan to hold protests nationwide on Feb. 15. In Bogota, a protest is planned from 10:00 at Parque Nacional and will likely be well-attended. Other demonstrations are planned in multiple cities nationwide from 10:00 on Feb. 15. Some of the largest include:
Barranquilla: Plaza de la Paz
Bucaramanga: Intersection of Carrera 27 and Calle 58
Cali: Parque Panamericano
Cartagena: Camellon de los Martires
Ibague: Parque Murillo Toro
Medellin: Intersection of Avenida Oriental and Avenida la Playa
Pereira: Viaducto Dosquebradas
The largest demonstrations will likely gather thousands. Heightened security is likely, as well as associated transport and business disruptions. Counter-protests cannot be ruled out. Most gatherings are likely to remain peaceful, but clashes are possible.
