Poland: Ongoing WWII bomb disposal operation ongoing in Szczecin Feb. 17

Authorities are currently disposing of a World War II-era bomb in Szczecin Feb. 17. The device was discovered during construction next to the railway line in the Kliniska Wielkie area. Authorities have implemented an approximately 1,000 meter (0,6 mile) security cordon around the device to facilitate the disposal operation.

Authorities have evacuated residents within the security cordon; all roads within the security cordon are closed to traffic, including the S3 main road. Rail services normally operating in the area are canceled or diverted. Lingering disruptions are likely after the operation concludes as security cordons are lifted and traffic flows return to normal.
