Unionized rail staff working for regional public transport operators plan to strike, March 2-3, to demand increased salaries. Three transport workers' unions have called for industrial action, and the impact on regional services will depend on the proportion of members who engage in strike action.
The VVMC (Train Driving Personnel) union plans to stop working on March 2 in the Achterhoek Rivierenland, Twente, and Limburg regions, and on March 3 on the Vechtdal line, and the MerwedeLinge line in the Dordrecht region. Delays and cancelations of bus and some train services are likely: recent strikes have impacted around 50 percent of services.
