Flight disruptions continue in Colombia as of March 1 amid suspension of Viva Air operations Feb. 27.
Event
Disruptions to passengers continue nationwide as of March 1 amid air carrier Viva Air (VH) and subsidiary Viva Air Peru (VV) suspending flight operations and canceling all flights since Feb. 27. Impacted passengers are encouraged to refer to the carrier's website and Colombia's Civil Aviation Authority for updates. Viva Air's parent company filed for debt reorganization in early February, and efforts toward a merger have been unsuccessful.
Heightened demand for available alternative flights will almost certainly continue over the coming days. LATAM Airlines (LA) and Avianca Airlines (AV) continue to transport stranded passengers through March 1 at no additional cost per availability.
Advice
Consider booking alternative travel arrangements if necessary.
