Informational

Event

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced that maintenance work will cause water outages across Colombo District 11:00-21:00 March 25. Several areas will be impacted, including Boralesgamuwa, Colombo, Dehiwala, Katubedda, Kolonnawa, Kotikawatta, Kotte, Kaduwela, Maharagama, Mount Lavinia, Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha, and Ratmalana.

Some business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water. While residents typically rely on private water suppliers during water outages, ongoing fuel shortages could limit availability.

Advice

Confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes.
