Climate activists to protest at Eindhoven Airport, Netherlands, March 25; several flights either canceled or rescheduled.

Environmental activists affiliated with climate action organization Extinction Rebellion are planning to stage a demonstration in the vicinity of Eindhoven Airport (EIN) March 25. Participants will reportedly rally 12:00-13:30 on Airport Boulevard next to the terminal. Protest organizers estimate that some 500 people will participate in the demonstration; actual protest participation may be lower.
Though protest organizers did not immediately announce any plans to trespass onto airport property, recent protests by Extinction Rebellion in the Netherlands have included activists blocking the departure of private jets at airports. In response to the planned March 25 demonstration, several flights at EIN have either been canceled or rescheduled, and ground transport to the terminal may be limited while the protest is underway.
