Netherlands: Protesters to gather in Utrecht November 28 /update 1

Protesters to gather in Utrecht against COVID-19 related restrictions on November 28; avoid all gatherings as a precaution

Activists in Utrecht have called for a protest to take place on Saturday, November 28, to oppose restrictions introduced by the government amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Participants will reportedly gather at Utrecht's Park Lepelenburg between 14:00 to 19:00 (local time). The demonstration is expected to remain peaceful but may be well attended.

A demonstration has also been planned for Sunday, November 29, in the same location beginning at 15:00.

A heightened security presence and localized disruptions are possible in the vicinity of all demonstrations, and clashes cannot be ruled out.

Those in Utrecht are advised to monitor developments, avoid all protests and demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
