Warning

Event

Supporters of Aung San Suu Kyi have called for a protest in The Hague on Wednesday, December 11, as the Myanma state counselor is scheduled to lead a delegation to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to defend Myanmar against accusations of genocide. Participants plan to gather from 08:30 (local time). While organizers have not yet announced an exact meeting location, or further details, they have said that protests are likely to take place near the ICJ.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected in and around the ICJ, and near any protest site. Further related protests and counterprotests are possible in the coming days.

Advice

Individuals in The Hague are advised to monitor the situation, avoid all demonstrations as a precaution, allow additional time to reach their destinations, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
