On Wednesday, February 12, Amsterdam police have reported an explosion in the city's Bolstoen area, northeast of the city center. The explosion occurred inside an office building at around 08:00 (local time), though no casualties were reported. Police are on the scene as an investigation is being carried out.

Another explosion was reported in Kerkrade at around 08:30, which prompted the building's evacuation. No injuries were reported and it is unclear whether the two events are related.

Associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of both explosions. A heightened security presence is also anticipated over the coming several hours.
