Ongoing bus strike in Córdoba enters eighth day as of Monday, June 12

An ongoing total strike by bus drivers in the city of Córdoba entered its eight consecutive day on Monday, June 12. Municipal bus services have been suspended since June 5, affecting more than 500,000 daily users. On Monday, the city implemented an emergency contingency plan, providing 160 free shuttle buses on nine major bus lines.
A march by bus drivers to protest this contingency plan will take place on Monday afternoon; demonstrators are scheduled to gather at 14:00 (local time) at the corner of Colón and General Paz avenues before marching to the local headquarters of the UTA union; the demonstration is expected to continue until at least 16:00. A second march will begin at the headquarters of the CGT union and will also end at the UTA building.
Increased taxi demand is to be anticipated throughout the duration of the bus strike. Travelers should note that Uber is not operational in the city.
