Argentina: March in central Buenos Aires Oct. 30

Event

The Barrios de Pie organization will hold a march in Buenos Aires on Monday, October 30. Protesters will gather at the Obelisco, located downtown on 9 de Julio Avenue, at noon (local time) before marching to the Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK) building where a rally will be held. The march could result in transportation disruptions in the downtown (microcentro) area. Minor scuffles are also possible.

Context

The march will coincide with a meeting taking place at the CCK between President Mauricio Macri, provincial governors, union and business representatives, parliamentary leaders, and judges. Macri is expected to outline a number of proposed reforms. Barrios de Pie is protesting the fact that civil society organizations are not being included in the talks.
