Brazil: New e-visa program for some travelers

Brazil will launch a new electronic visa program for certain international travelers on January 15, 2018. Citizens of the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan - who are currently required to obtain traditional visas - will be eligible to apply for visas online. The visa-issuing process is expected to take around 72 hours.

The new online visa system is intended to boost tourism in Brazil.
