Greece: Heavy flooding near Athens November 15
Torrential rain causes flooding near Athens; at least two dead November 15

As of Wednesday, November 15, towns and roads near Athens are flooded following overnight torrential rain. The floods have trapped residents in their homes and killed at least two individuals. Schools in the areas of Mandra, Nera Peramos, and Megara have been closed.
Furthermore, a state of emergency was declared on the island of Symi on November 14 following a fierce storm. Electricity and water supplies were cut off and severe infrastructural damage was reported.
Further rain and storms are forecast throughout the country until Saturday, November 18. Associated transportation disruptions are possible. For now, no flight disruptions have been reported at Athens International Airport (ATH).
