Netherlands: Cancelations at Amsterdam, Eindhoven airports Dec. 11 (snow)

On Monday, December 11, hundreds of flights were canceled at Amsterdam and Eindhoven airports amid heavy snowfall throughout the Netherlands. As of midday on Monday, 430 flights - over one-third of those scheduled - were canceled at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). Eindhoven Airport (EIN), the Netherlands' second-largest airport, was forced to temporarily close its runway, canceling or diverting all air traffic until conditions improved. As of 14:00 (local time), Eindhoven Airport had reportedly reopened, although further transportation disruptions (flight delays and cancelations) are expected in the coming hours.

Both domestic and International flights have been affected by the severe weather conditions. Disruptions should continue to be expected in the coming hours and days, as more snow is expected until Tuesday, December 12.
