Laos: Arrival card no longer needed for permanent residents

Officials no longer require arrival-departure immigration cards from those with permanent residency

Informational

Event

Officials in Laos announced on May 11 that Lao nationals and expatriates who have permanent residence will no longer need to fill in an arrival-departure card when entering or exiting any of the four international airports in Laos. Tourists, foreigners without permanent residency, and stateless individuals will still be required to complete the form. The change is part of an effort to make travel more convenient; the government also has plans to digitize the passport system and set up an online system for visa applications.
