Netherlands: Police shoot knife-wielding man in The Hague May 5
Man wounds three people with a knife before being shot and arrested by the police in The Hague on May 5; investigation ongoing

Police officials reported at approximately 15:40 (local time) on Saturday, May 5, that a man armed with a knife attacked several people in The Hague. Three people were stabbed in Johanna Westerdijkplein Square before police shot the attacker in the leg. All of the victims have reportedly been taken to the hospital. The area has been cordoned off as a police investigation is ongoing. As of Saturday evening, the motive for the stabbings is unclear; however police officials did announce that the man was known to the authorities.
