Event

A public transit workers union has announced a strike for regional bus and train services to begin on Monday, June 25. The union, FNV, has declared that the strike is indefinite, and will last until its demands of higher wages and better working conditions for its 12,000 members are met. The strike is a continuation of previous FNV strikes held in January and April over the same demands. Increased road traffic congestion is possible in and around cities as commuters seek alternative means of transportation.
