Greece: Storm alerts in effect July 31 - August 1

Yellow and orange storm alerts issued for much of Greece from July 31 to August 1; transportation disruptions possible

The Greek Weather Service has issued orange thunderstorm alerts, the second-highest on a four-point scale, for Tuesday, July 31, in the regions of Peloponnesos, Thessalia, Central Macedonia, West Sterea, and East Macedonia. Yellow alerts (the third-highest level) have been issued for the regions of Attica, Epirus, Thrace, Western Macedonia, and Euboea. Storm alerts are expected to remain in place through at least Wednesday, August 1. Related air and rail disruptions, hazardous driving conditions, and power outages are possible.
