At least two people killed and 140,000 houses without power following passage of Storm Ali on September 18

On Wednesday, September 18, Storm Ali hit Ireland, bringing heavy rains and winds of up to 160 km/h (100 mph). According to authorities, at least two people were killed, and several more injured, following the passage of the storm. In addition, at least 140,000 houses were left without power throughout Ireland on Wednesday. Severe flight disruptions (cancelations and delays) were reported at Dublin Airport (DUB). Conditions are expected to clear in Ireland overnight by Thursday.
