A fire that ignited in the Educandos neighborhood of Manaus on the night (local time) of Monday, December 17, left at least four people injured and forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes as of early on Tuesday, December 18. At least 600 homes were burned in the blaze, which authorities believe ignited following the explosion of a pressure cooker in a kitchen. Firefighters have since brought the blaze under control.
