Armenia: Nationwide Day of the Citizen celebrations April 26-27

Nationwide celebrations for the Day of the Citizen are scheduled for Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27. Local authorities have reported that some streets will be closed to motor vehicles in downtown Yerevan. Mashtots Avenue (Yerevan) will be closed completely on April 26 at 23:30 (local time) through April 27. Traffic from the intersections of Tumanyan-Saryan, Tumanyan-Teryan, Pushkin-Saryan, Arami-Koghbatsi, Amiryanm-Saryan and Amiryan-Zakian to Mashtots Avenue will also be closed. Cars will be prohibited from parking on Mashtots Avenue from the Square of France to the Mashtots Avenue-Amiryan Street intersection from 21:00 on April 26.

A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected over the coming days.
