Spain: Partial train strikes in Barcelona May 13-17, May 20-27

Commuter train workers at Ferrocarrils de la Generaltiat de Cataluña (FGC) are expected to hold partial strikes in Barcelona from Monday, May 13, to Friday, May 17, and from Monday, May 20 to Monday, May 27. The strikes will take place from 07:00 to 09:00 (local time) and 17:00 to 19:00. While these walkouts are likely to cause significant delays, Barcelona transport authorities have pledged to keep 50 percent of train services during the work stoppages. Increased demand for alternate modes of transportation are to be expected (e.g. bus, taxis, etc.). Normal operations are expected outside of striking hours.
