Taxi drivers in Medellin plan to strike July 10; transportation disruptions expected

Taxi drivers are slated to protest against app-based ride-sharing services and new circulation restrictions on Wednesday, July 10, in Medellin. The march will take place in 10 zones throughout Medellin and begin between 04:30 (local time) and 05:00 and is expected to last most of the day. Officials are expecting the participation of at least 5000 taxi drivers, out of a total of 19,250 taxi drivers in all of Medellin.

Transport disruptions are to be expected city-wide.
