Greece: Recovery efforts continue in Halkidiki July 12 /update 1

At least six people were killed and over 100 injured after gale-force winds, hail, and thunderstorms hit the region. Around 80 percent of the region lost power, which was gradually being restored on Thursday, July 11. Limited power outages are possible through Friday as crews continue to repair downed lines. Transportation and commercial are anticipated throughout the Halkidiki peninsula over the coming days as emergency personnel remove debris from roads.
