Event

The main public transit operator in Barcelona, TMB, has announced that maintenance work scheduled on Barcelona's metro lines 1, 2, and  5 will cause partial service disruptions until at least September 1.

On Line 1, metro services are suspended between Clot and Fondo as of Saturday, June 29, until at least Friday, August 30. The operator will offer two alternative bus services: Clot - Fabra i Puig, and Onze de Stembro - Fondo.

On Line 2, service will be suspended between the Parallel and Sagrada Familia stations from Saturday, July 27, to Friday, August 30. Travelers can use alternative routes via bus lines D50, H12, and H16 which operate between the affected stations.

Service on Line 5 will be suspended from Can Vidalet and Collblanc from Saturday, July 29, to Sunday, September 1. A special bus service will be available, which will offer service between Can Vidalet and Collblanc with a stop at the intermediate station of Pubilla Cases.

Higher demand for alternative modes of transportation is expected, along with increased road congestion as commuters will seek alternative roads.

Advice

Individuals in Barcelona are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate rail delays, cancelations, and congestion, and seek alternative modes of transportation or maintain a flexible itinerary.
