Ireland: Injunction granted to stop Ryanair pilot strike August 21 /update 1

The High Court grants Ryanair injunction to stop impending pilots’ strike on August 21; confirm itineraries

Warning

Event

The Irish High Court granted Ryanair an injunction on Wednesday, August 21, in order to stop a pilot's strike scheduled to take place in Ireland on Thursday, August 22, and on Friday, August 23. The court concluded that the call to strike does not follow an agreement both the airline and the Irish Air Line Pilots' Association (IALPA) signed the year prior.

Ryanair pilots have not yet announced that they will heed to the injunction and call off the strike, though will likely do so in the coming hours.

Advice

Potentially impacted travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and to contact the airline for more information.
