Environmental group calls for protests in Dublin October 7; heightened security presence and localized disruptions expected

The Extinction Rebellion (XR) environmental group has called for several protests in Dublin on Monday, October 7. Protesters are expected to gather outside the Lower House of the Irish Parliament at around 13:00 (local time). The activists are then set to lead a "Climate Walk" to Merrion Square. Other associated protests are planned across the city, although the exact times and locations were not immediately available.

A heightened security presence and significant transport and business disruptions are expected in the vicinity of all protests and along the march route.
