Spain: Hispanic Day celebrations scheduled in Madrid October 12
Madrid to host main Hispanic Day event in Madrid on October 12; heightened security presence expected

Hispanic Day celebrations have been scheduled in Madrid on Saturday, October 12. A civil-military parade with the participation of an estimated 3500 troops, 76 airplanes, and over 100 ground vehicles will begin at 11:00 (local time) from Plaza de Cuzco. The parade will then proceed to Plaza de Lima and finish at Plaza San Juan de la Cruz. Other related events are scheduled on the same day across the city.
Most urban areas across Spain will also hold commemorative events.
A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of all commemorative events.
