Spain: Three demonstrations planned in Valencia on October 9

Three organizations schedule demonstrations in Valencia on October 9; transportation disruptions expected

Three distinct demonstrations have been scheduled in Valencia for Wednesday, October 9. The protests are scheduled for the participation in commemorative acts for the national day of the "Valencian country." The first will be an LGBTQI+ organization, which has called for a march starting at 18:00 (local time) at Plaça de Sant Agustí and will proceed to Plaça d'Alfons el Magnànim until 21:00.

Secondly, the Intersindical Valenciana-Comissió and Trade Union Coordinator will gather at 18:30 at Plaça de Sant Agustí and later proceed to Plaça d'Amèrica, where the gathering is expected to end at 22:30.

Another group looking to protest bullfighting will gather at 17:00 at the city's bullring at the corner of Xàtiva street with the avenue of Marqués de Sotelo.

Other commemorative celebrations are to be expected across the city. A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected.
