Ireland: Weather warnings issued ahead of Storm Brendon January 13
Irish Meteorological Service issues warnings as Storm Brendan approaches on January 13; strong winds, storm surge, coastal flooding, and associated disruptions expected

The Irish Meteorological Service, Met Éireann, issued several weather warnings on Sunday, January 12, as Storm Brendan is forecast to impact most of Ireland on Monday, January 13. Éireann issued a red marine warning for gales and occasional violent storm winds on all coastal waters and on the Irish sea on Monday. The weather service also announced orange wind warnings for Connacht and Leinster provinces, as well as for Donegal, Kerry, Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford counties on Monday. Wind speeds are expected between 50-80 kph (30-50 mph), with gusts up to between 120-130 kph (75-81 mph). Éireann warned of a significant risk of coastal flooding.
Power outages, transportation, and business disruptions are expected in affected areas throughout Monday.
