A fire broke out on the roof of the terminal at Alicante-Elche airport (ALC) on Wednesday, January 15, causing all travelers to be evacuated from the airport and prompting officials to suspend all flight operations. Several incoming flights have been diverted to nearby airports, and officials have warned passengers traveling through ALC of severe delays. The fire is reportedly under control as of 18:30 (local time), and outbound flights have resumed; arriving flights are reportedly still being diverted. No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.

Severe flight disruptions, including delays and cancelations, are expected at ALC over the coming hours.
