Tens of thousands of people in The Hague were reportedly left without power on Monday, August 17, after a fire at a distribution station. Around 37,000 properties in the northern Duindorp and Scheveningen districts are reported to have been affected by the outage from 11:00 (local time), as well as parts of the city center. Tram services were suspended on multiple routes due to the outage, including lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 11, 15, 16, and 17, and some businesses in the affected areas were reportedly forced to close.

Residual disruptions are likely in affected areas of The Hague in the near term. It is currently unclear when electricity services will be fully restored.
