The trade union Verdi, which represents 87,000 workers from 130 public transport companies across the country, has called on its members to stage a 24-hour strike in Hamburg on Saturday, November 28, following unsuccessful negotiations over working hours and salaries. The walkout will begin at 03:00 (local time) and will impact bus and U-Bahn (subway) networks. 

Further nationwide disruptions to service related to the dispute may take place in the near term.
