Colombia: Highway between Bogota and Medellin closed due to a landslide Dec. 5

Authorities have closed the Medellin-Bogota highway (Autopista Medellin-Bogota) at kilometer 46 in San Luis municipality following a landslide at approximately 0900 Dec. 5. Authorities are attempting to clear the road; it is unclear how long the highway will be closed for.

Transport disruptions will almost certainly persist through at least Dec. 5. Lingering disruptions are likely when the affected part of highway resumes operations, as stranded vehicles pass by the reopened roads. Supply chain disruptions could occur in the event of a prolonged closure.
