Heavy snow in parts of northern, central Germany disrupting rail services nationwide Feb. 7; confirm services before travel.
Event
Heavy snowfall in northern and central Germany has led authorities to cancel services in these areas, resulting in disruptions across much of the country Feb. 7. Rail operator Deutsche Bahn has confirmed the following long-distance disruptions until further notice:
Services from Berlin towards Hanover/Cologne, Erfurt, Frankfurt, and Munich are suspended.
Services from Hamburg towards Dortmund/Cologne, Hanover, Frankfurt, and Munich are suspended.
Services from Dresden towards Leipzig, Frankfurt, Hanover, and Cologne are suspended.
Services north of Frankfurt, towards Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin, Hanover, and Hamburg are suspended.
Services between Hamburg and Kiel, Lubeck, and Westerland, respectively, are suspended.
Services between Hanover and Norddeich Mole and between Munster and Norddeich Mole are suspended.
International services between Germany and the Netherlands have been suspended, including services between Frankfurt and Amsterdam, as well as Berlin and Amsterdam.
Officials have not stated when services will resume, but have warned that disruptions may continue through Feb. 8
