Norway: Authorities maintaining international entry restrictions as of Oct. 26 due to COVID-19 activity /update 54
Norway maintaining COVID-19 related international entry restrictions as of Oct. 26; domestic restrictions previously lifted.
Event
Authorities in Norway are maintaining international entry restrictions imposed to combat the spread of COVID-19 as of Oct. 26; domestic restrictions were previously lifted Sept. 25.
Entry is permitted from EEA and Schengen Area countries, in addition to Switzerland, the UK, and countries designated as purple; as of Oct. 26, this includes Bahrain, Kuwait, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, UAE, and Uruguay. Nonessential travel from other countries remains prohibited; exceptions are in place for EU/EEA citizens and residents, their close family members, and limited categories of essential workers. Entry is also permitted for individuals with a certificate of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 that is linked to the EU Digital Covid Certificate Gateway or issued by authorities in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, or the UK.
Norway uses the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) assessments of countries' COVID-19 risk profiles to assign international entry restrictions. Permitted travelers from green and orange areas and travelers with a valid vaccination or recovery certificate can enter without additional restriction. Permitted travelers not meeting these conditions must fill out a registration form 72 hours before arrival, submit to a test on arrival in Norway, and quarantine for 10 days on arrival. Travelers without suitable accommodation for self-isolation must stay in designated quarantine hotels. Quarantine can be ended early following a negative COVID-19 test taken no less than three days after arrival.
A regularly updated list of countries by color designation is available by clicking here. The registration form required for travelers from certain countries is available by clicking here.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
