British Virgin Islands: COVID-19-related international travel requirements still largely unchanged as compared to those in place in October /update 46

As of Nov. 30, COVID-19-related international travel restrictions in force in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) remain largely unchanged, as compared to those in place in October. Domestic measures have been mostly lifted since October.

Entry Restrictions
Requirements for travelers entering BVI vary depending on the individual's vaccination status:

• Fully vaccinated individuals must show proof of vaccination, with the last dose being at least two weeks before arrival. They must also show proof of a negative PCR test taken within five days prior to arrival, as well as travel insurance that covers the costs of any COVID-19 medical procedure and quarantine. These travelers need not take an additional test upon arrival unless their pre-travel test is older than 48 hours. Unvaccinated individuals under the age of 18 traveling with vaccinated adults must show proof of a negative PCR test taken within five days prior to arrival, and must take an additional test upon arrival.

• Partially vaccinated individuals must register in the BVI Gateway portal and obtain approval to travel from the Environmental Health Division. They must also have proof of a negative PCR test taken within 3-5 days prior to arrival and have travel insurance. Upon arrival, they must quarantine for at least four days at an approved location and take new tests on the day of their arrival and on day four of their stay in order to end quarantine.

• Unvaccinated individuals must follow the same steps as partially vaccinated individuals but must quarantine for seven days upon arrival and take a test on the day of their arrival and on day seven in order to end the quarantine.

Fully vaccinated travelers may enter BVI through Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) and two seaports - the Road Town Jetty and the West End Jetty. Partially and unvaccinated travelers may only enter through EIS or the Road Town Jetty seaport.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
